Devotional for September 1

Isaiah 41:10New King James Version (NKJV)

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

We are Americans constantly seeking approval from the world. Our bosses, friends, co-workers even our enemies. Yes, we want to please, everyone except our God who strengthens us, sends us air, water, food, love, shelter, encouragement etc. All God wants in turn is for us to share our love, encouragement, food, shelter, etc.

We are dismayed beyond all belief when we hear God loves us. Yes, we self-centered, greedy, back biting approval seeking Americans that cannot fathom the depth of the love of God. Let us learn to accept the love God has for us, be powerful in his word that strengthens us. Allow Him to help us. Then God will uphold us with His righteous hand!

  1. Hi Pastor Steve!
    Excellent advice from Isaiah.
    We will be blessed by doing our Great Commission work and not focus on ourselves.
    The Two Great Love Laws that summarize all Ten Commandments — LOVE GOD; LOVE OTHERS.
    See you in church today!

    1. Hi Patty,
      I do attempt to get blog posts cross-posted as soon as possible. Unfortunately I was on vacation over the weekend and wasn’t able to get several posted until I returned. You should be able to see the devotions on facebook even if you don’t have an account by navigating to if there are days when they don’t get posted.

      Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience.
