Devotion for September 19

Ephesians 2:8

“8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”

We really never understand grace because we are taught you can’t get something for nothing. Grace was paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ.

It is a free gift.

The price is total surrender to Jesus. Most people who come to Christ give less than 100 percent and that is why they don’t understand grace. You don’t have it if you don’t totally surrender. Once you have it you do understand.

[The Great Commission has great power if we are dying for Christ’s sake.
    We die to ourselves.
We die to others for their sake to bring them the GOSPEL even if it is not received.

These still lost people are called the low hanging fruit who are being ripened by the Holy Spirit and were given to Jesus, God the Son by GOD the Father upon the creation.]
“… As to suffering itself, the Apostle also gladly bore this “for Jesus’ sake.” In writing to the Corinthians, he said: “I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then am I strong” (II Cor. 12:10). He had learned that in weakness he leaned the harder, prayed more, and was brought closer to His [our] Lord, and herein lay his spiritual strength…”
