Devotion for September 29

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I, like Paul, am amazed at how God uses us who never quite feel qualified. I myself cannot understand why I was chosen. I do know this: When God speaks to you it is clear and purposeful; therefore you cannot deny God his right to choose. So we need then only to surrender and trust His plans for us. Anyone can be content when all is going well.

True faith, true joy is finding contentment when all is not well. Know that you are part of God’s plan to restore his people.

    Amen!
Christians share a common duty to love others by sharing the Good News.
"…Now think about the Lord’s parting instructions to His disciples. Did He say to sit idly by and simply mention His name to anyone who walked past? No! He said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). He wants the good news to go forth because He is still seeking the lost today…" Pastor Charley Stanley, First Baptist Church of Atlanta
