Devotion for October 29

Hebrews 10:29

How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

It became very apparent to me yesterday while playing golf that we can make a mockery of grace by insulting Christ when becoming angry. Joe and I were playing golf and the guys behind us hit into us twice. I came really close to losing all direction. We need to start our day with reflection on what situations would deny us our spirit. I did not set the best example. I did apologize to all parties and avoided making a complete idiot of myself. God uses us to teach others how to exhibit grace. Be on the lookout for Satan and explore daily how best to serve.

  1. Dear Steve,

You were forgiven you know. And the Holy Spirit corrected you.

Here are two great study pages about The Fruit of the Spirit compiled by our joint friend and sister Berit Kjos. She is possibly the bravest and the best watchmen I have ever known personally – a strong, strong Biblical Christian since 1971.
