Devotion for September 25

Luke 16:9New International Version (NIV)

“I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.”

Even in context this verse is difficult at best. Luke ever the physician is again telling us to heal ourselves. Take our life and change it for others benefit. Who is the most revered saint of modernity. Mother Theresa! Surely you could argue that. I would say that all the hungry, sick and dying she cared for are her friends. She used her worldly wealth to care for these people. I would think that her reward is a crown in heaven. Did she do too much? Or just enough. Mother Theresa gave 100 per cent. Is 50 percent enough. Ten five one. All we have to give is our devotion and faith to Christ. Trust and believe. Will that be enough to change us!
