Devotion for October 10

1 Peter 4:10

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Spiritual gifts are wasted if we don’t use them. Accountants, financial consultants, mechanics, athletes, teachers, and musicians are all gifted and can teach others so we are not so dependent on the other. Gifts of prophecy, listening, and preaching are no different. We must use our gifts to edify God. You can encourage people who are worried that their only vehicle is broken there is where a mechanic can be a witness. Ministers need financial consultants to have freedom to preach the Word, not fret about losing their income. We all need each other’s gifts so that we don’t become consumed with the trappings of the world. Let God use your gifts.
